K-12 Education Community Impact
One of the seven key initiatives of the Greensboro Partnership’s 2012 Strategic Plan is to pursue excellence in education and support improving the skills, especially reading, writing, math and science, exhibited by Guilford County Schools (GCS) K-12 students as measured by appropriate metrics. The Chamber’s strategy to help achieve this goal is to participate in and support the work of GCS in achieving their 2016 Strategic Plan and to work with educational institutions to understand, identify, and address the community’s workforce needs now and for the future. ➢ 2016 Guilford County Schools Strategic Plan

This opportunity will result in far-ranging, positive effects on the community, including a more educated labor force, incentives for businesses to start or relocate into the area, a stronger tax base, increased property values and more. Recently released were several reports including an article on GCS Finances & Student Achievement Data.
